Experience in diagnosis and treatment of recurrent oral ulceration associated with gastroesophageal reflux disease

Abstract:

Objective

To analyze the efficacy of antireflux therapy in patients with oral ulcers complicated with gastroesophageal reflux disease.

Methods

Selected the patients of gastroesophageal reflux disease combined with gastric ulcer by GERD-Q rating scale and analyze the correlation between them.In the end, we assessed the role of anti-reflux treatment on the prevention and treatment of oral ulcers.

Results

Among the group of 47 patients with recurrent oral ulceration, 34 patients′GERD-Q≥8, accounting for 72.3%, 13 cases′GERD-Q<8, accounting for 27.7%; among the 29 traumatic oral ulcer patients, 9 cases′GERD-Q≥8, accounting for 31%; 5 cases′GERD-Q<8, accounting for 69%.And the recurence time was prolonged from 3.7months to 5.1months.

Conclusion

Long-term anti-reflux therapy can significantly reduce the recurrence rate of patients with oral ulcers and promote wound healing.
