Gastroesophageal reflux disease is a kind of disease characterized by heartburn, regurgitation.However, there are always some patients that do not have manifestations above, but have other extra-esophageal symptoms as their clinical manifestation.Of these extra-esophageal symptoms, respiratory system symptoms are in the majority, and such patients always have a low quality of life score, they may be misdiagnosed sometimes.The main reasons for this phenomenon are the lack knowledge of GERD and the lack of evidence-based researches on the correlation between GERD and respiratory disease.The mechanism of this correlation is still not completely clear now.This article is a review that retrospect the research progress on the correlation between GERD and respiratory disease in recent years.
