Study on the correlation between chronic cholecystitis and gastroesophageal reflux disease

Abstract:

Objective

To investigate the correlation between chronic cholecystitis and gastroesophageal reflux disease.

Methods

Prospective analysis the 352 cases chronic cholecystitis patients who from the people′s Hospital of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region from March 2016 to May 2017, and the 400 cases of patients with non-chronic cholecystitis as control group, two groups were completed gastroesophageal reflux disease questionnaire(GERD-Q), the results were statistically analyzed.

Results

According to GERD-Q international standard for diagnosis of GERD, the incidence of GERD in the chronic cholecystitis group was significantly higher than that in the non chronic cholecystitis group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).

Conclusion

Chronic cholecystitis has closely related with GERD, and in the chronic cholecystitis patients the GERD incidence significantly increased, but the specific causal mechanism in GERD and cholecystitis were needs further study.
