Abstract:

Gastroesophageal reflux disease is a type of disease in which gastric contents flow back into the esophagus, causing discomfort and/or complications. For patients with gastroesophageal reflux disease, magnetic sphincter augmentation has been reported as an innovative alternative to anti-reflux surgery. Although used in practice, little is known about how it is assessed. A total of 51 related studies were retrieved from Chinese and English databases from January 2001 to February 2020, and summarized from the aspects of mechanism, surgical technique, effect evaluation, postoperative complications and economic benefits. The aim is to systematically summarize and evaluate the application of magnetic sphincter augmentation in clinical practice.
