Progression of nonpharmacological therapy on Refractory gastroesophageal reflux disease

Abstract:

Gastroesophageal reflux disease(GERD)is a common upper gastrointestinal disease.Proton pump inhibitor(PPI)is still the most common drug for GERD at present, but around 40% GERD patients had poor symptom control under standard PPI treatment, known as refractory GERD(rGERD), some patients have different degrees of mental symptoms, seriously declining the quality of life of patients.Therefore actively exploreing some nonpharmacological therapy for rGERD has become a research hotspot in recent years.In this paper, we reviewed the progression in study on treatment of rGERD, such as lifestyle change, acupoint stimulation, Diaphragm biofeedback, endoscopic treatment and surgery.
