Study on the relationship between chronic calculous cholecystitis, chronic acalculous cholecystitis and gastroesophageal reflux disease

Abstract:

Objective

To investigate the relationship between calculous cholecystitis and gastroesophageal reflux disease.

Methods

In this prospective study, the clinical data of 488 patients with GERD diagnosed by gastroesophageal reflux disease questionnaire (GerdQ) or physical examination gastroscopy in Xinjiang Minxin Hospital from September 2017 to September 2019 were prospectively studied. At the same time, the clinical data of 590 patients diagnosed as non-GERD by the same method (non-GERD group) were selected. The two groups were examined by abdominal color ultrasound or abdominal CT respectively or the results of abdominal color ultrasound in the same period were taken as reference. Diagnosis of cholecystolithiasis and statistical analysis of the results

Conclusion

there is no significant relationship between chronic calculous cholecystitis and gastroesophageal reflux disease, and the severity of GERD is not affected by gallstones.
