Treatment of gastroesophageal reflux after the operation of cardia cancer invading the lower esophagus

Abstract:

Objective

To explore the comprehensive treatment of gastroesophageal reflux after the operation of cardia cancer invading the lower esophagus.

Methods

Retrospective analysis the clinical data of 216 patients with carcinoma of the cardia and lower esophagus treated by thoracic surgery in the people′s hospital of Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region from January 2013 to December 2015, thoracic stomach was reduced and sutured as esophagus, besides the esophagus crack hole was reconstructed in the operation.Postoperative comprehensive treatment was made for the patients with gastroesophageal reflux after surgery, and the recovery process was observed.

Results

After 6 months to 3 years following up postoperatively, 69 patients had mild reflux, 26 patients had obvious reflux symptoms, and the symptoms were relieved after oral administration of drugs and combined therapy.

Conclusion

In the operation, reducing the thoracic stomach and suturing it as esophagus, besides reconstructing the esophagus crack hole, reduce gastroesophageal reflux, combining with drug and intervention therapy can significantly relieve the clinical symptoms of patients.
