Progress in the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease by transoralincisionless fundoplication

Abstract:

As a common disease of digestive tract, gastroesophageal reflux disease(GERD)is getting a widespread concern in the medical profession.GERD is caused by the contents of the stomach reflux into the esophagus resulting in a symptom of discomfort and(or)complications.Transoral Incisionless Fundoplication(TIF)is a new minimally invasive treatment of GERD, also gets medical community attention. TIF is considered to be a valuable treatment for the appropriately selected GERD patients.This article combines the relevant literatures to explain the latest progress of treating GERD with TIF.
