Exploring the Rat models of Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease

Abstract:

GERD is one of the most common diseases in the department of gastroenterology, and its pathogenesis is complex. The rat model can be used to study the pathogenesis of GERD to bring hope for the new clinical treatment. At present, there are two kinds of methods to establish GERD rat model. One is induced by exogenous esophageal perfusion of chemicals. The other is to change the physiological structure of the gastrointestinal tract by surgical intervention. The review focuses on two aspects, 1) acute GERD rat model. 2) chronic GERD rat model.
