Abstract:

Objective

To explore the Expression and significance of p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase(MAPK)、E-cadherin, Vimentin protein in gastroesophageal reflux disease and esophageal adenocarcinoma tissues.

Methods

Collect from January 2017 to April 2019 Wax block specimens from 42 patients(undergoing endoscopic biopsy in Gastroenterology) in Pathology Department of Zunyi Medical University were gastroesophageal reflux disease group, 9 patients with esophageal adenocarcinoma (undergoing esophageal adenocarcinoma resection) from January 2013 to April 2019 were esophageal adenocarcinoma group, nine esophageal adenocarcinoma adjacent tissue specimens (derived from the adjacent mucosal tissue of esophageal adenocarcinoma patients) were the paracancerous group. Immunohistochemical method was used to detect the expression of p38 MAPK, E-cadherin, and Vimentin in the three groups of patients, and the relationship between the above indicators and gastroesophageal reflux disease and esophageal adenocarcinoma was analyzed.

Results

In paracancerous tissues of esophageal adenocarcinoma, gastroesophageal reflux disease tissues, esophageal adenocarcinoma tissues, p38 MAPK and Vimentin are expressed in a gradually increasing trend, while E-cadherin is expressed in a gradually decreasing trend.

Conclusion

The abnormal expression of p38 MAPK、E-cadherin, Vimentin may be involved in the pathogenesis of gastroesophageal reflux disease and esophageal adenocarcinoma.

Key words: Gastroesophageal reflux disease, p38 MAPK, E-cadherin, Vimentin
