Abstract:

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD)is a chronic, progressive respiratory system disease with high incidence and mortality rate, which is harmful to human health.Gastroesophageal reflux disease(GERD)is one of the most common gastrointestinal diseases mainly caused by the reflux of gastric contents to esophagus, mouth or lung with the ascending tendency in recent years. The typical clinical manifestations of it include heartburn, acid regurgitation, reflux of gastric contents, non-cardiac chest pain, and so on.More and more studies showed that the incidence of GERD in COPD patients is higher than normal people, and the pathologic mechanism remains unclear. Some clinical symptoms are similar between them, which may result in misdiagnosis and misseing the best time of treatment. The links between them have attracted more and more attention. Here we reviewed the research progress of their links during the past decades.
